LAIBACHKUNSTDERFUGE
LAIBACHKUNSTDERFUGE, the Bach versus Laibach concert, wil be released by Mute in digital format only on 5th of May. Meanwhile the album was released on cd in Slovenia.
Laibach’s interpretation of Bach’s Kunst der Fuge is not a usual Laibach concert but a 90 min performance-installation show – a concert for “ Kreuzschach und vier Schachspieler”, with surround sound and visuals.
Laibach will present "Laibach Kunst Der Fuge" live in May 2008. Unlike the show in Leipzig during the Bach Tage, the line up will include live Electronic Drums and Keyboards this time.

Laibach has been payed with uncommon honour by editors of cult comic edition ABSOLUTE KINGDOM COME. In its new editon, which has been issued at American publishing house DC Comics, Laibach's frontman is appearing as one of the new superheroes from the story. He has been named Von Bach and is, among Superman, Batman, Captain Marvel, King Crimson and other flying hypertrophies, featured as a negative hero. Dressed in Laibach-style uniform he wears groups's trademark on his chest and is, just like the rest of heroes, flying trought the air with supersonic speed. Read more

NEW LAIBACH ALBUM
VOLK
Laibach once said that "Pop music is for sheep and we are shepherds disguised as wolves". The new Laibach album VOLK is the bands comment on pop culture, presented in a collection of 14 pop songs, inspired by national anthems.
The album comes in two editions. The limited edition is in hardback 32 pages book format, featuring new Laibach Kunst paintings and sleeve notes about each song. The standard edition will have the lyrics of the songs.

Divide States of America
"Divided States of America", the next in Laibach's series of DVD releases, will be available by MUTE in November.
This film is a unique document of the Laibach tour, set during the traumatic post-election atmosphere in the USA, a country deeply divided by two opposite political and cultural poles. The tour has been therefore named "The Divided States of America Tour".

LAIBACH: Return of the Repressive (RoTr)
British premiere of the Laibach kunst inhibition "Instrumentality of the State Machine".
This September, England's second city Birmingham will host Laibach for the first time. Birmingham was one of the centres of the industrial revolution and this makes it a highly appropriate venue for the British premiere of the Laibach kunst inhibition "Instrumentality of the State Machine". The inhibition will be staged in the Custard Factory, itself an ex-industrial location in the heart of the city.
It will open on Friday September 1st, and at 8pm Laibach will perform it’s "Concerto for Magnetophone, Gramophone, Radiophone and Megaphone". This is the first British LAIBACH KUNST inhibition and the performance will also be a British premiere.
The event is part of a weekend of events entitled Return of the Repressive (RoTr), organised by the Industrialised Culture Research Network (I.C.R.N.). The Laibach performance will be followed by various electronic acts and DJ’s.
On the Saturday, Sašo Podgoršek’s Divided States of America will receive it’s British premiere as part of an industrial screening evening.
Finally, on Sunday the 3rd, there will be an I.C.R.N. seminar on industrial with guest speakers and a presentation of Alexei Monroe’s Interrogation Machine.

Celebrating 321 years of Johann Sebastian Bach and (precisely to the day) 25 years of their own existence, LAIBACH staged their adaptation of Bach's "Die Kunst der Fuge" in Leipzig's "Werk II" on the background of Bach´s native town's annual "Bachfest" on 01.06.2006.
"Laibachkunstderfuge" is a co-production with the Bachfest / Bach-Archive
