D’Art Documentaries is inviting us to the opening of the Fine Art of Mirroring feature documentary held at KIC, Preradovićeva Street 5, Zagreb, on 18 February at 19.00 hours.

Enmeshed in a set of strange circumstances and political schemes, the plot dives into the world of young, alternative artists in the former Yugoslavia who had won at the competition for the design and concept of the so-called Youth Day in 1987. At that time, the Youth Day was the most important State event and symbol of unity and brotherhood of young generations, celebrating the birthday of president Josip Broz Tito, even after his death in 1980.

Following this narrative element, the film clarifies, through the discussions with Slovenian artists, lawyers, critics and politicians that acted during the 1980s within youth organisations, the origins of disconent of the young people with the perpetuation of the cult of personality and hypocrisy of Yugoslav political establishment.
