New venue and date for First NSK Citizens’ Congress

The dates and venue for the Berlin congress have now been finalised. The congress will run from 21st to 23rd October. We are pleased to announce that the venue for the Congress will be Haus Der Kulturen Der Welt, Berlin’s House of World Cultures.

Laibach announces new exhibitions for 2010

Following this year’s major and successful retrospective exhibition AUSSTELLUNG LAIBACH KUNST – RECAPITULATION 2009 at Museum Sztuki in Łodz (Poland), Laibach is announcing a number of large-scale exhibitions for next year (2010), this time in Ljubljana, Zagreb, and Trbovlje.

Outlook: WORDS FROM AFRICA at Utopics

Postgravity art :: Syntapiens

DUNJA ZUPANČIČ explores two complex systems in postgravity art: empty-body directing and the syntapiens system, and visualises their point of connection. She geometrises all conceptual information about the emptybody directing of Dragan Živadinov and about the syntapiens system by Miha Turšič with temporal layering and informing.

Exhibition The White Sport

Laibach are contributing a specially edited sequence lifted off their Mute-released DVDs for the group exhibition ‘The White Sport – Myths of Race’, curated by NSK Diplomat Avi Pitchon, and Hanna Freund-Shertok, opening on May 5th in Minshar Gallery in Tel-Aviv, standing until June 19th. This is the first time Laibach are officially and directly involved in a project taking place in Israel.

Irwin - STATE IN TIME - Aarhus, Denmark

Irwin - STATE IN TIME

For the first time ever the Slovenian art group Irwin exhibits its works in Denmark. At the exhibition the group presents NSK-State in Time. This continuing communication project presents a utopian state without a concrete territory, but with several thousands of citizens plus formal national symbols such as a flag, stamps, emblems and a passport that everyone is free to obtain. One of the exhibited works, Words from Africa, is a collaborative work between Irwin and nskstate.com.

The Reykjavik embassy of NSK opens at Reykjavik Academia (Reykjarvíkur Akademíunni) on 22nd March 2007. This is the anniversary of Laibach's first performance in Rejkjavik and has been declared the State holiday of NSK in Reykjavik.

The Department of Pure and Practical Philosophy, chose the same place were St. Paul spoke to the People of Athens about the “Unknown God” for the first time, two thousand years ago, to give a speech about the universal God, the “corner stone” of “the most radical directions in the philosophy of religion or in the theology itself”.
